The Temple of Literature - the Imperial Academy is one of the most famous attractions in Hanoi. It has a long history. The Temple of Literature was founded in 1070 by Emperor Ly Thanh Tong. It is considered one of the historical and cultural sites of Viet Nam. Then in 1076, the Imperial Academy was built by Emperor Ly Nhan Tong. It is the first university in Viet Nam. It educated young men for the nation. In 1484, the first Doctors' stone tablets were erected by King Le Thanh Tong. They were recognised as the World Cultural Heritage. In 2003, the four statues of the founders and developers of the Temple of Literature were built by the Hanoi People's Committee. This place has important values, so we should preserve it carefully.
